Vice president receives US officials
Vice President Ali Mohsen received on Sunday Tim Lenderking , the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Arabian Gulf Affairs and US Ambassador to Yemen Mathew Tueller and discussed with them developments in Yemen and other related issues.
Mohsen valued US attitude supporting Yemen’s legitimacy and rejecting Houthi coup, confirming keenness of the political leadership on enhancing relations between the two friendly countries and means of enhancing them in different fields.
He acquainted them with suffering of Yemeni people over the coup and Houthi threat on international navigation and on international security and peace.
He confirmed keenness of the government on realizing permanent peace, which is based on the GCC Initiative and its executive mechanism, the Outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and the UN Resolution 2216.
The restoration of the state and fighting extremism and terrorism are the priorities of the political leadership, said Mohsen, pointing out to achievements realized in implementing the rule of law and fighting all outlaw acts.
He confirmed that Iran’s support to Houthis and its flagrant interference were behind complication of peace efforts as the project of Iran is the destabilization of Yemen and the region, calling upon the International Community to stop Teheran’s interferences and chaos in Yemen.
For his part, the US official expressed his pleasure on the meeting, which comes in the framework of boosting relations in different fields, including peace.
He renewed his country’s support to the legitimate authority and keenness on achieving peace and stopping bloodshed of Yemeni people.
