Chief of Staff receives National Investigation Committee’s Team
Chief of Staff Maj. General Tahir Al-Aqail received Monday the Team of the National Investigation Committee tasked with investigating into claims of violations of human rights.
During the meeting, team-leader Tahir Al-Fa’eq provided a detailed explanation about the committee’s mission. The committee’s team has been conducting field-visit to Marib province with the purpose of investigating into claims of human rights abuse and violations.
General Al-Aqaili welcomed the committee’s observers, affirming that military command is ready to cooperate with the committee.” Military leadership would offer all need support to help the committee investigating into the claims of human rights in order to contribute to deliver justices and protect the victims’ rights”, said Gen. Al-Aqail.
The chief of staff gave instructions to the concerned directorates to facilitate the team’s action. He confirmed that the national military is fully committed to act in accordance with international laws and humanitarian standards in spite of the troops have been facing brutal practices by the terrorist militia that violated all laws.
For his part, the committee’s team leader said the team would pay visits to jails, detention places within the military capacities.
