929 civilians killed, including 189 children, women in Taiz, HRITC reports
The Human rights information and training center (HRITC) revealed that at least 929 civilians were killed including 134 children and 55 women in Taiz governorate during the past year 2017, the Houthi coup militia topped the list of crimes perpetrators against civilians.
The HRITC said in its statement that its team has monitored about 1988 civilians were injured including 156 children and 58 women as a result of Houthi militia’s indiscriminate shelling and sniper shootings and landmines and IEDs, during the past year, 2017.
The HRITC also said that the rebel militia abducted 195 civilians, 40 of them were forcibly disappearance, the militia tortured five civilians as well.
The HRITC documented the displacement of 2712 family from several villages by the the militia who forced civilians to evacuate from their villages in order to turn it into military barracks or planted many of mines and explosive devices.
As for the property damages, 15 houses were documented as totally destroyed other 34 houses as partially damaged as a result of the militia’s heavy shelling. The militia also destroyed 326 public and private installations in addition to looted 38 private property.
