‘UN ceasefire monitors collided with Houthi circumventions from first moment’
Yemen’s Ambassador to Moscow Ahmed al-Wuhayshi said the UN ceasefire monitors in Yemen collided from the first moment in their mission with Houthi circumventions .
In a meeting with the head of the Middle East Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Zolotov, he said the rebel militia have been intimidating the team in the port city of Hodeida, shelling grain stores, attacking residential areas there with rockets and even threatening to fire more missiles on Yemen’s neighboring countries.
Zolotov on his part said Russia supports the Yemeni government’s efforts to restore and maintain Yemen’s security, safety and territorial integrity. He said Russia also supports the implementation of the Stockholm Agreement in order to end the conflict and establish a sustainable peace in Yemen.
