The National Army Forces have seized control of several strategic mountainous positions north of Lahjj province, after fierce ground battles with Houthi-Saleh militias, on Monday.

Military sources told September Net that the army forces carried out fierce military operation and artillery bombing against the positions of militias in al-Kabeitah district, northern the province, saying that the army troops manged to gain control of the strategical mountain and hill of “al-Qahos” and al-Karb” respectively.

Fighting resulted in killing over eight militiamen of Houthi-Saleh rebel militants and wounding others, in addition to destruction of two military vehicles.

Houthi-Saleh insurgent rebels resorted to plant landmines in large fields thinking that they may slow down the rapid advance of the national army, the sources added.
