Army cuts off road linking Sana’a and Hodeidah

National Army troops managed to cut off the supply lines for Houthi militia coming through the road linking Hodeidah and Sana’a provinces, on Tuesday.
This advancement came following the liberation of Hodeidah International Airport earlier this morning.
According to a military source to September Net, forces of Al-Amalekah 2nd Brigade had controlled large parts of the ’16 Kilo’ public road, through which the militia were receiving reinforcements from their held capital Sana’a.
The recapture of ’16 kilo’ road, which leads to ‘Manankhah’ region in Sana’a, resulted in cutting off any supplies for the rebels in Hodeidah.
The army has made further advance taking over the ‘Yemani Factory’ and the ( 7 )kilo road, and is only 4 km away from the crossing-section of ( 16) kilo road, that leads to Sana’a or Taiz provinces, the military source said.
In the south of Hodeidah, the national army completed liberation of ‘Al-Manzar’ region, following heavy battles resulted in major losses in lives and equipment among the militia.
Fifteen Houthi rebels were also killed and others wounded on Tuesday Monday, in Al-Duraihmi district during a failed infiltration.
Notably, as the army pressing a head militarily on them from south of Hodeidah, the Houthi rebels have retreated to the city and prevented its population from leaving in order to use them as human shields, according to some local residents.
