Army liberates new sites, finds weapons cache in Al-Jawf

Yemeni Army captured on Friday new positions from Houthi militia in Al-Jawf province northwest of the country.

Brigadier Haikal Hantaf, commander of first Border Guards brigade said the national army managed to retake several sites in Khab-Alsha’af district after fierce fighting with the rebel militia in Wadi Silaba and Al Ashal villages.

Brig. Hantaf said fighting killed and wounded several militiamen including ground leaders, pointing out the army seized an arms depot for the coupists.

Meanwhile, army’s demining teams continue to clear and secure the liberated areas from mines and explosive devices laid by Houthi putschists before being pushed out by the army.
