Yemeni national army, backed by Arab coalition to support the legitimacy, repelled an attack by the Iranian-backed Houthi rebel militia in Hodeida, earlier on Friday.

The Houthi militia attempted to infiltrate into the army’s positions in Tohita district south of the province, but were thwarted and forced to flee after a number of its militants were killed and injured.

The rebel militia pushed large reinforcements of militants and combat mechanisms towards the directorate of Hais, south of the province. The militia also targeted with a barrage of artillery shells various sites under the control of the national army.

Despite all the militia breaches, the national army forces, as per orders of the political and military leadership, remain committed to the UN-led ceasefire truce in Hodeida city.
