The Arab Coalition supporting Yemeni government on Monday, launched several airstrikes on the Iran-backed Houthi rebel militia positions in the capital Sana’a.

The airstrikes targeted a number of caves in Faj Atan and Al Amad Camp in Sana’a, which are used by the Houthi militia to store ballistic missiles, drones as well as weapons.

“The targeting operation is an extension of the qualitative military operations to destroy the Houthi capabilities carried out by the Joint Forces Command to destroy these capabilities and neutralize their threat to regional and international security,” said Col. Turki Al-Maliki, spokesman for the coalition.

Al-Maliki stressed that the targeting process “is in accordance with international humanitarian law and customary rules, and that the command of the joint forces of the coalition took all preventive measures and measures to protect civilians from any collateral damage.”
