2,797 Houthi mines cleared during the past week of running August

The Masam Demining Project announced that 2797 mines and unexploded ordnance had been extracted last week in August, planted by the Iran-backed Houthi rebel militia in a number of provinces and liberated areas.
Osama al-Gosaibi, director general of the Saudi Mine Clearance Project, said the teams cleared 2,107 unexploded ordnance and 690 anti-tank mines last week.
Since the beginning of this month, 5,435 mines and unexploded ordnance have been cleared by field teams, bringing the total cleared since the project began until August 22, 2008.
83748 have varied between mines, improvised explosive devices and munitions planted by the Houthi rebel militia in many areas of Yemen.
