Yemen’s Human Rights Minister shared the atrocities the Houthi militia commits against civilians and oppositionists in particular with members of the US Congress on Tuesday.

In a meeting with several representatives and senators in Washington, Mohammed Askar cited the armed militia’s massacres, relentless crackdowns, recruitment of child soldiers, radicalization of children to become fearless killers and planting of more than one million landmines.

The radical militia’s acts, he said, affected women and children among thousands of civilian victims.

He called on the Congress to condemn the militia and adopt the resolution that Congress members including senator Tom Cotton and rep. Will Hurd had drafted condemn the Houthis for their record in human rights violations and their connections to Iran.
