The national army troops on Sunday defeated an attack by the Iran-backed Houthi militia on Hais district, south of Hodeida province, in the west of Yemen.

Earlier this day, a large group of Houthi militiamen tried to advance towards the army positions northwest of Hays district.

The army thwarted the attack, forced Houthi militia elements to flee after suffering severe losses.
