MASAM destroys 1600 Houthi-laid mines in Shabwa

The Saudi Project for demining in Yemen MASAM has removed and destroyed 1600 landmines planted by the Iran-backed Houthi militia in Baihan district of Shabwa province.
Since the start of the project, MASAM’s engineering teams have removed 23 thousand Houthi-laid landmines, explosive devices and unexploded ordnances from 30 minefields in Baihan and Asilan districts, said the general supervisor of the engineering teams in Shabwa.
Eng. Abdullah Salem Hasan explained that the project destroyed 400 mines, 250 explosive devices, while the rest varied between unexploded shells and ammunition.
He pointed out all areas and fields that have been secured are agricultural and residential areas, including water wells, schools and main roads.
