The National AIDS Program in the Ministry of Public Health and Population unveiled its plan to organize awareness-raising meetings to combat stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV.
The awareness raising drive will target 325 health workers in public and private health facilities, and will be implemented with support from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
The events will aim to explore the attitudes of healthcare providers with regards to HIV patients, and to identify causes of stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV in healthcare facilities.
