Yemen’s Information Minister has called upon the permanent members of the UN Security Council to designate the Houthis as a terrorist organization, freeze their assets and ban the travel of the members of the violent theocratic militia.
In a statement to Saba News Agency, the minister said the militia which overrun the capital Sana’a in September 2014 has recently managed to deceive the international community into believing that the militia consist of pro-Iran extremists and pro-Arab moderates and that their connection to Iran is momentary while the fact of the matter is they want to outmaneuver the world, gain more time and regroup their armed militants.”
The renewed Houthi declaration of support to Iran in the aftermath of demise of the mastermind of Qasem Suleimani revealed that the militia has no factions within it, he said. “It is all one demonic Iranian offshoot, one that is more extremist than Hezbollah and the Popular Mobilization Forces in Iraq.
