Houthis in possession of weapons similar to Iran’s, says UN

Yemen’s Houthi militias are in possession of weapons similar to those produced in Iran, the UN has said in a report.
Some of these new weapons the militiamen have obtained since 2019 “have technical characteristics similar to arms manufactured in the Islamic Republic of Iran,” according to the report compiled by UN experts tasked with monitoring a UN embargo.
“In addition to the previously known weapon systems, they used a new type of Delta-design uncrewed aerial vehicle and a new model of land attack cruise missile,” said the report.
The militia overthrew the internationally recognized government by force and seized the capital Sana’a in September 2014.
