Yemeni armed forces on Saturday frustrated several attacking attempts launched by the Iran-backed Houthi rebel militia as part of a series of the militia’s attempt to exploit the ceasefire committed by the army in accord with the orders of His Excellency President Field Marshal Abdu Rabbo Mansour Hadi, president of the Republic, commander-in-chief of the armed forces.
In Al-Bayda province, central Yemen, the army has blocked infiltration attempts by the Houthi rebel militia on several positions on the fronts of Na’ta’a, Al-Malajim, and Qaniya.
Clashes took place before the army hindered the militia attack, during which the Houthi militia suffered heavy material and human losses.
After its brutal attack, the militia launched artillery and rocket fire on army positions and housing areas in the Qaniya area.
In Serwah front, west of Marib province, the army failed the coup militia an attempt to infiltrate in Al-Dheig front, in which a number of militants were killed, wounded and captured.
Together, the army stopped the militia a similar attempt to infiltrate to one of the positions in the Najd Al-Ataq front, in Nihm district, east of Sana’a, in which a number of militants were killed and wounded.
At the same time, the Houthi rebel militia has heavily shelled various positions of the army in Serwah and Nihm fronts, taking advantage of the army’s commitment to applying the truce.
