Well-informed international reports have revealed the close link between the Houthi rebel militia, al-Qaeda and Daesh (ISIS).

Recent incidents have revealed mutual terrorist coordination between the two groups in the central Yemeni province of Al-Baydha.

The UN Security Council’s panel of experts in Yemen recently released a report revealing the Houthis’ cooperation with Daesh (ISIS)- Yemen branch, through a prisoner exchange in April 2020.

Yemeni armed forces spokesman Brig. Gen. Abdu Mugali denied the Houthi militia’s claims that they had fought in areas under their control in Al-Baydha province against al-Qaeda and ISIS, saying that only the Houthi militia is trying to lie to the international community with these false allegations.

According to Mugali, the Houthi militia has already released a number of terrorist elements from prisons in Sana’a and other Yemeni provinces that are still under militia control.

Yemeni government spokesman Rajeh Badi revealed that there is an integrated coordination between the Houthi militia and terrorist organizations, especially (al-Qaeda and ISIS).
