Hadi receives GCC Secretary General
His Excellency President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, received today the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council conveyed to the President Hadi the greetings of his brothers, the leaders of the GCC states, who affirmed support for the government and standing with the Yemeni people in their security, stability and unity.
During the meeting, a firm position was confirmed on the position of the GCC in support of ending the war and the coup of the terrorist Houthi militia in accordance with the three references represented in the Gulf initiative, its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive national dialogue and Security Council resolution 2216, and efforts to complete the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement with the aim of strengthening unity of all national forces in the fateful battle with the Iranian-backed Houthi militias, and the continuation of sincere national efforts for all the honorable people of Yemen, with great support from brothers and friends, to build a state of modern institutions based on the foundations of justice and equality among all its people.
The meeting touched on the support of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf to the government, especially in the economic aspect, in order to contribute to improving the local currency, improving basic services and alleviating the suffering of various groups and segments of society among the Yemeni people throughout the governorates of the Republic, which is the suffering caused by war, crimes, practices and violations of the militia.
They the need to put an end to the continuation of the vicious Houthi attacks targeting civilian objects and populated areas in the territories of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
In the meeting, the latest developments on the national arena and international efforts to achieve peace and enhance security and stability in Yemen were also discussed.
His Excellency the President praised the brothers in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries for their support.
