Yemen, World Bank discuss food security’s crisis

Government Delegation included Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Wai’d Batheeb, Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries Salem al-Socotri and State Minister, the Governor of Aden Hamed Lamlas discussed Saturday with the Regional Director of the World Bank Tania Meyer and WB’s Food Security Team means of promoting capabilities and response to food security crisis.

The meeting touched upon WB’s support to increase production of grains, animal and fishery wealth, as well as the organization’s current plans for supporting national capabilities, planning and managing food security.

Ministers Batheeb and al-Socotri confirmed government’s efforts for alleviating suffering of Yemeni people through integrating efforts and expertise in contribution to realize food security and self-sufficiency and expansion of planting grains and other products.
