MASAM removes 1,423 Houthi-laid landmines in third week of June
A Saudi demining program MASAM has announced it had removed 1,423 Houthi-laid landmines and unexploded ordinances in various parts of Yemen in the third week of this month.
The landmines include 19 anti-personnel landmines and 1136 UXOs. Since it started operation in Yemen, MASAM has removed 346, 570 landmines of more than a million landmines the militia has planted.
Hundreds of civilians including women and children have been killed by Houthi landmines while thousands of landmines are still under the surface of the earth, posing a threat to civilian lives.
