Al-Erada, US envoy discuss efforts to launch a comprehensive peace process in Yemen

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Major General Sultan Al-Erada, discussed with the US Special Envoy for Yemen, Tim Lenderking, the ongoing efforts to advance political talks and launch a comprehensive peace process in Yemen, our country.

Major General Erad briefed the US envoy on the latest developments in the Yemeni arena and the efforts exerted to revive the course of the humanitarian truce and achieve peace in our country.. affirming the commitment of the Presidential Leadership Council to the option of a comprehensive, just and sustainable peace in accordance with the basic references, foremost of which is the Gulf initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and the UN Security Council resolution No. 2216.

Al-Erada pointed out that the political leadership and the government are working to develop mechanisms to alleviate the human suffering exacerbated by the terrorist Houthi militia with its escalatory measures targeting the national economy. He pointed out that all procedures related to the port of Hodeidah and Sana’a airport will be reviewed in the event that the militia continues to exploit it for military purposes. away from the suffering of the citizens.

Al-Erada praised the distinguished bilateral relations between the Republic of Yemen and the United States of America, appreciating the American support provided to our country in various political, economic and humanitarian aspects, strengthening security cooperation and the efforts of the US Navy to prevent smuggling of Iranian arms and drug shipments to Yemen.

Al-Erada called for providing more support to the national economy in a way that contributes to alleviating the humanitarian crisis caused by the Houthi militia, meeting the urgent needs of the Yemeni people and improving the level of services provided to citizens throughout Yemen.
