Defense Minister Praises U.S. Support for Yemen

The Minister of Defense, Lt. Gen. Mohsen al-Daari, has praised the United States for its steadfast support of Yemen, expressing deep appreciation for Washington’s military cooperation with the country’s internationally recognized government.
Lt. Gen. al-Daari made these remarks during talks today with Colonel Sean Newcomb, Military Attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Yemen.
Discussions focused on Yemeni–American military cooperation, U.S. assistance to the Yemeni Coast Guard, and joint efforts to curb smuggling activities.
The Defense Minister also highlighted the grave dangers posed by ongoing cooperation and collusion between the Houthi militia and other terrorist groups operating in Yemen and Somalia.
For his part, Colonel Newcomb commended recent successes by Yemeni forces in intercepting Iranian weapons shipments bound for the Houthi militia.
