Defense Minister Inspects Mayyun Island and Bab al-Mandab

Defense Minister Lieutenant General Dr. Mohsen Al-Daari on Tuesday paid an inspection visit to Mayyun Island and the Bab al-Mandab district in Taiz governorate.

He was accompanied by senior military officials, including the heads of logistics support and military police, to assess the readiness of the stationed forces and review development projects.

The Minister underscored the strategic significance of Mayyun Island and the Bab al-Mandab Strait as vital arteries of international trade. He emphasized the necessity of strengthening the armed forces to ensure the security of this crucial maritime corridor and Yemen’s coasts.

During the visit, he also met with local community leaders and affirmed that the island and its residents are a priority for the nation’s leadership.
