During the meeting, they discussed developments in Yemen’s political and economic situation and ways to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries in various fields, in addition to discussing the humanitarian situation and mechanisms to alleviate the suffering caused by the Houthi militia terrorists.

Minister Zindani expressed the government’s appreciation for the supportive stance of the Canadian government, praising the increase in humanitarian aid provided by Canada, which helps alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and improve the humanitarian situation across the governorates.

He also welcomed the Canadian government’s decision to designate the Houthi militias as a terrorist group, stressing that this decision reflects Canada’s commitment to combating terrorism and supporting the Yemeni government’s and the international community’s efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace, restore the state, and end the suffering of Yemenis.

For his part, the Canadian ambassador affirmed his country’s continued support for the Yemeni people through relief and humanitarian assistance programs, and continuing coordination with the Yemeni government to ensure that aid reaches those who need it and to bolster stability in Yemen.
