The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) held a meeting on Thursday, chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Council, with the attendance of its members Sultan al-Arada, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi and Othman Majli.
The meeting devoted to discuss the recent developments in the country, mainly the successful process of taking over the military camps in Hadramout and al-Mahra governorates, the temporary capital Aden and the rest of the government-controlled governorates.
The discussions touched on the constructive outcomes of the meeting of the Chairman of the PLC and its members with Minister of Defense in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.
The PLC expressed its deep gratitude and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud and his Crown Prince, Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud for their supportive fraternal stances in support of the Yemeni people.
The PLC greatly valued the Kingdom’s key role in supporting Yemen’s unity, security and stability; highly appreciating the Kingdom’s leading efforts to de-escalate tensions, protect civilians and unify military and security decision-making within the framework of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy.
The PLC also blessed the sovereign decisions taken to manage this stage, namely the creation of a Supreme Military Committee under the leadership of the Saudi-led Coalition supporting legitimacy.
This committee is tasked with uniting the armed forces based on national and professional principles, ensuring that the state exclusively controls the decisions of peace and war, improving preparedness to face challenges, specifically the Iranian-backed Houthi militias threat.
For the Southern Issue, the PLC confirmed that the state is committed to justly addressing this rightful issue through the upcoming South-South dialogue to be held in Riyadh under the generous sponsorship of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with comprehensive representation without exclusion or marginalization and in a way that restores decision-making to its true owners within the framework of the state and its sovereignty.
The PLC praised the unified position of the international community in supporting Yemen’s unity and territorial integrity.
The PLC reviewed reports on developments in several governorates, particularly the urgent humanitarian and service needs and interventions in the Socotra Archipelago governorate, and took the necessary measures in this regard.
The PLC emphasized the importance of accelerating the normalization of conditions in the government-held governorates, the return of the government and all state institutions to operate internally, taking immediate measures to compensate for damages, caring for the families of martyrs, treating the wounded, and strengthening the rule of law.
The PLC took a number of decisions related to filling vacancies in the Council’s membership and improving basic services and administrative performance
