His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, on Monday called the Governor of Hajjah Governorate, Abdulkarim Al-Senini, to review the aftermath of a Houthi attack that targeted civilians in Hairan District during a Ramadan iftar.
The governor reported that eight civilians, including children, were killed and dozens were injured, with several in critical condition now receiving care in hospitals and specialized medical centers.
President al-Alimi instructed authorities to provide immediate medical assistance to the wounded and emergency support for the victims’ families. He called for thorough documentation of the attack, describing it as yet another grave violation of human rights by the Iran-backed Houthi militia.
Expressing his condolences, the president prayed for the victims and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting its citizens, ensuring the perpetrators are held accountable, and delivering justice swiftly.
