Member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Hadramout Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi chaired a joint meeting on Wednesday in Mukalla to review a draft proposal for establishing the Higher Coordinating Council for Hadrami Forces and Components.

The meeting was attended by members of parliament and the Shura Council, Deputy Governor Hassan Al-Jailani, district directors, leaders and representatives of political and community groups, as well as representatives of women and youth.

During the meeting, Al-Khanbashi said the gathering reflected a national and historic responsibility toward Hadramout and stemmed from the importance of unifying the Hadrami ranks politically and socially in a way that contributes to forming a unified Hadrami vision that reflects the aspirations of the people of Hadramout and strengthens security, stability, development, and good governance.

Al-Khanbashi pointed out that the proposed coordinating council is not intended to replace political parties or social and political components, but rather to serve as a unifying framework for coordinating visions and efforts in line with the requirements of the current stage. He stressed the importance of benefiting from previous experiences and initiatives and building on them to reach a comprehensive Hadrami entity that includes various forces and groups inside and outside the country, while ensuring an active role for youth and women in different areas of work.

Governor Al-Khanbashi also addressed the efforts of the local authority to improve basic services, especially electricity, referring to ongoing measures to secure emergency fuel shipments and complete arrangements for transferring emergency power stations in coordination with the implementing company, in addition to continuing government coordination regarding the project to connect the eastern governorates to the Saudi electricity grid.
