President al-Alimi Praises Constant Development in Yemeni-Russian Relations

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) received on Sunday the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Yemen Evgeny Kudrov.

Kudrov handed al-Alimi a congratulatory message from His Excellency President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Yemen, expressing his wishes for stability and peace for the Yemeni people, and for further development and prosperity in bilateral relations.

They conferred over the bilateral cooperation relations between the two countries and prospects for further increasing joint cooperation in different fields following President al-Alimi’s state visit to Moscow last year.

The President praised the deep historical relations between the two countries, highly appreciating Russia’s positions in support of Yemen, its unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He also greatly valued the Russian significant role in the Security Council in supporting the aspirations of the Yemeni people and political solutions based on nationally, regionally and internationally agreed references.

The Chairman of the PLC touched on the latest developments in the Yemeni national arena and the significant transformations during the recent period, including the reorganization of security and military decisions, strengthening coordination between state institutions and embarking on economic, financial and service reforms within the framework of efforts aimed at building the desired state model with support from the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and regional and international partners.

The President expressed Yemen’s aspiration for a greater Russian role in the recovery and reconstruction phase, particularly in the sectors of energy, ports, minerals, infrastructure, and technical education, as well as the continuation of economic and political coordination and consultation, in a manner that serves regional security, stability and the interests of the two countries.
