Yemeni Ambassador, U.S. Lawmaker Discuss Expanding Bilateral Cooperation

Yemen’s Ambassador to the United States, Jameela Rajaa, met on Thursday with US Congressman, the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East and North Africa Mike Lawler to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and broaden cooperation between the two countries.
The discussions focused on enhancing joint efforts in counterterrorism and supporting initiatives aimed at safeguarding maritime security in the Red Sea and other international waterways.
The meeting also addressed issues of mutual concern, including recent developments in Yemen and the importance of maintaining pressure on the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias to encourage their serious engagement in peace efforts and help bring an end to the suffering of the Yemeni people, paving the way for the restoration of state institutions and the strengthening of security and stability.
Both sides underscored the importance of supporting Yemen’s economic development and deepening the partnership between the two countries in a manner that advances shared interests and contributes to regional security and stability.
