Prime Minister Stresses Priority of Expanding Rural Water Services

Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Dr. Shaya Zindani has affirmed the government’s interest in expanding drinking water services in rural areas, as it is one of the basic priorities for improving the level of services provided to citizens and reducing the population’s suffering in obtaining safe water.
During his meeting on Tuesday with the Chairman of the General Authority for Rural Water Projects, Eng. Ayman Al-Kaldi, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of directing the available capabilities towards implementing priority projects, according to the needs of local communities, and in a way that ensures achieving a direct and sustainable impact in improving basic services. Directing the Authority to redouble efforts to raise the efficiency of project implementation, enhance coordination with local authorities, donors and international partners, and work to attract more funding for priority projects.
The Prime Minister was briefed by the Chairman of the Authority on the progress of the Authority’s work, the level of implementation of existing projects, its future plans to expand the scope of water services in rural areas, the difficulties and challenges facing the implementation of projects, and the necessary needs to raise the efficiency of performance and enhance the ability to respond to the growing needs of citizens.
