Minister of Interior Discusses Security Cooperation with Chinese Embassy Chargé d’Affaires

Minister of Interior Major General Ibrahim Haidan discussed Sunday with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Yemen Shao Qing ways to strengthen security cooperation between the two countries.

The Minister expressed his appreciation for the support provided by the Chinese government to the Ministry of Interior and for its backing of the Yemeni government’s efforts to enhance security and stability.

He stressed the importance of expanding security cooperation in a way that contributes to improving the institutional performance and operational efficiency of the country’s security agencies.

Haidan also emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in the field of maritime security, as well as training and qualifying Ministry of Interior personnel to enhance their capabilities in protecting the shared interests of both countries and addressing common security challenges.

For his part, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy reaffirmed his country’s continued support for Yemen, its security, and its stability.

He noted the Chinese government’s commitment to maintaining close cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Interior in order to strengthen bilateral relations and further develop the partnership between the two countries, particularly in the field of security.
