Presidential Leadership Council member Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi met with UK Minister for the Armed Forces Louise Jones to discuss strengthening bilateral defense and security cooperation and enhancing coordination to counter threats posed by the Iranian-backed Houthi group to regional security and international navigation in the Red Sea.
The meeting, attended by Yemen’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom Dr. Yassin Saeed Noman, reviewed the longstanding partnership between the two countries, the latest political and military developments in Yemen, and prospects for expanding cooperation, particularly in the defense and security sectors.
The two sides also discussed increasing support for Yemen’s military and security institutions through training and capacity-building programs.
