Government: We’ll Not Accept Blackmail and bullying Approach, Yemen’s Stability Key Guarantee for Regional, Global Security

The Yemeni government confirmed that it will no longer accept the continuation of blackmail and intimidation approach, and it will not allow the confiscation of the decision over war and peace or the imposition of a stage’s pace on Yemenis, regional and international security and peace.
The government also stated that Yemen’s stability is central guarantee of the security and stability of the region and the world, the safety of international navigation and global trade, the protection of supply chains, the decline of terrorism and organized crime, limiting waves of irregular migration, and upholding the principles of international law which are based on respecting the sovereignty of states.
In its speech to the Security Council during the open session on the situation in the Middle East (Yemen), delivered by Yemen’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Abdullah al-Saadi, it stated
that Yemen’s stability is central guarantee of the security and stability of the region and the world, the safety of international navigation and global trade, the protection of supply chains, the reduction of terrorism and organized crime, limiting waves of irregular migration, and upholding the principles of international law which are based on respecting the sovereignty of states.
Al-Saadi pointed out that Yemen’s stability will not be achieved without a peace process based on bold political steps which confirm that there is no future for any group that challenges the exclusive authority of the Yemeni state, keeps weapons outside state institutions or claims for itself political, divine, religious or tribal rights above the will of Yemenis and the rule of law.
He emphasized that the hand of the state will remain extended to any sincere effort leading to a true, fair and permanent peace that ends the coup, restores state institutions, preserves the dignity of all Yemenis, and achieves the security, stability and peace that the Yemeni people deserve.
Al-Saadi also reiterated the commitment of the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government to the option of peace and to engaging positively with all regional and international initiatives and efforts aimed at ending the war and alleviating the suffering of Yemenis.
At the same time, the government emphasized that the desirable peace is the one that addresses the roots of the crisis, ends the causes of the war, restores the authority of the state and its institutions, protects rights, freedoms, equal citizenship, and the rule of law, ensures that the state alone monopolizes weapons and legitimate means of force, and respects the sovereignty of the Republic of Yemen, the security of neighboring countries and international maritime routes; it is not a peace that gives militias a new chance to reproduce themselves and prepare for another cycle of conflict.
Al-Saadi also reiterated that the intransigence of the Houthi militias and their repeated rejection of all calls and initiatives to address the Yemeni crisis reveal that they are not seriously seeking for reaching a comprehensive political settlement, rather they are insisting on continuing the war, the bloodshed in Yemen and prolonging the suffering of the Yemeni people.
