Foreign Minister Discusses with Her Somali Counterpart Cooperation in Maritime Security

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Afrah al-Zoubi and the Somali Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Abdulsalam Abdi discussed today, Sunday, on phone the bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.
The two ministers talked about consultation and coordination between the countries in regional and international forums, cooperating on protecting navigation in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, and addressing threats to the security of both countries and the region.
The phone conversations also covered the ongoing military escalation by Iran-backed terrorist Houthi militias on the western coast and Bab al-Mandeb and the repercussions of this escalation on national and regional security and the safety of international navigation.
