The Republic of Yemen called on all Arab countries to take the necessary legal measures to designate the Houthi militias as a terrorist organization, pursue the Houthi militiamen and hand them over as terrorists.
The Yemeni government underlined the importance of strengthening Arab security cooperation through practical measures to combat terrorism and organized crime, and tracking funding sources and support networks to protect the security and stability of Arab countries.
This came in a speech delivered by Director General of the General Department for Combating Terrorism and Organized Crime at the Ministry of Interior Maj. General Ahmed al-Dhahiri at the 29th Arab Conference of Officials Responsible for Combating Terrorism, held in the Tunisian capital.
Al-Dhahiri warned against the use of artificial intelligence and digital communication tools for recruitment, incitement and planning terrorist activities.
He underscored the importance of developing digital monitoring, analysis and cybersecurity capabilities, as well as tightening oversight of illegal financial flows, combating money laundering and preventing the use of modern financial technologies to finance terrorism.
