Saudi Dep. Defense Minister: Houthis violate Stockholm agreement, ignore UN resolution

Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman said the Houthi militia continues to violate the resolutions of the Security Council and the Stockholm Agreement.

Speaking at the Moscow Conference on International Security, Prince Khaled said “the Houthi militia ignored UN resolution 2216 and the Gulf initiative…our goal is to achieve stability for Yemeni citizens under a legitimate government,”.

He stressed that Riyadh is committed to combating terrorism. “We must fight all sources of financing terrorism, and strengthen anti-money laundering efforts,” he said.

“The Iranian regime continues to feed sectarianism and disrespect international laws.”

He added that Iran is shaking the stability of the region “by supporting Hezbollah and the Houthis.”
