Yemeni army captures new villages in the rebels’ stronghold, Saada

National Army forces scored new gains in the Houthi rebels’ stronghold Maran region in Saada province, north of the country.
“The army liberated Saturday the mountain of al-Mujrab, Umm Nairah village and parts of ‘aljareya’ village in the valley of ‘Leya’,” Brigadier General Saleh Al-Mekhlafi, Assistant Commander of the 3rd Brigade, told “September Net”.
He pointed out that the battles resulted in significant human and material losses among the Houthi militia, adding dozens militia bodies are still scattered at the battlefield.
Meanwhile, Houthi militias transferred the civilian houses in the fighting areas into military barracks and laced them with explosives before they retreated, Col. Hameed Othman pointed.
He added that the military engineers have extracted large amounts of mines and explosive devices the militia had planted in civilian houses, public roads and farms of the liberated areas.
