Yemeni National army foiled an attempt by Houthi militia to regain liberated sites in Maran front of Sa’ada province, north of the country.
The army’s 3rd Brigade Aroba commander said large number of militiamen tried late on Friday to infiltrate into the positions they had recently lost to the army in Wadi ‘Leyah’ and villages around it.
Brigadier Abulkareem al-Sadee added that a number of militiamen were killed and injured during the battles.
Meanwhile, the militia’s leader of al-Shameyah front, called Ismael Mohamed al-Wazeer, was killed by the army troops during clashes northwest of Sa’ada.
Al-Wazeer was one of the highest senior militia leaders in Sa’ada and close to the leader of the Iran-backed Houthi rebels.
