MASAM extracted ‘31,635 mines planted by Houthi militia in second half of 2018

The Saudi Project for Landmines Clearance in Yemen (MASAM) launched by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center announced on Tuesday it had extracted ‘31,635 Houthi-laid landmines’ in different parts of Yemen over the second half of 2018.
MASAM extracted 702 anti-personnel landmines, 18,895 anti-vehicle mines, 811 IEDs and 11145 UXOs. The landmines were removed from public roads, houses and school campuses. They had been camouflaged by different shapes and paints.
Several women and children have lost their lives or their limbs as a result of such landmines
