UN Human Rights Council held a session on Wednesday in Geneva devoted to discuss the Third National Report about human rights (HR) in Yemen.
The report submitted by the Yemeni government to the current round of the UN Human Rights Council.
The report included clarifications about the implementation of the 166 recommendations that Yemen committed itself in 2014 to work on in order to enhance legal and institutional framework of human rights.
Minister of HR Mohamed Asker stated that the Yemeni government is very interested in improving human rights situations.
To this end several practical steps were taken, but unfortunately, Houthi rebel militia’s coup on September 21, 2014 has disrupted government’s plans and efforts aimed to achieve the political reforms that can help to implement the 166 recommendations
