MASAM removes over 7,000 mines planted by Houthi militias in One Week

The Saudi Project for Landmines Clearance in Yemen, funded by KSrelief, removed, 7,183 mines planted by Iranian-backed Houthi militia in Yemen, during the final week of January 2019.
The Saudi Press Agency said the MASAM project removed 89 anti-personnel mines, 2,322 anti-vehicle mines, 284 explosive devices and 4,487 unexploded ordnance.
These latest figures bring to 38,817 the total number of Houthi mines that have been removed.
The militias have sought to plant the explosives in various civilians areas in Yemen, such as schools and homes, killing a large number of children, women and elderly, or resulting in amputations or serious injuries.
