Houthi-laid mines kill, injure 26 children in Shabwa

The National Demining Program documented that 45 civilians including 26 children were killed and wounded by Houthi-laid mines last year in Yemen southern province of Shabwa.
The Program’s Coordinator Dr. Ali Al-Shaeri said the program’s teams in the districts of Biahan, Ain and Ausailan monitored “the killing of seven cases including three children and the wounding of 35 cases including 23 children by the Houthi militias’ landmines in 2018
Al-Shaeri said that ” 41478 children among 54257 people were educated about the danger of landmines and explosive devices during the second phase of the 40-day, UNICEF-funded program carried out by nines field teams in the three districts of Shabwa.
