Yemeni Government and World Bank (WB) held a preliminary meeting on Wednesday in the headquarters of the WB in Cairo.

Senior government’s officials and WB’s representatives in charge engaged in deliberations focused on the constant assessment of Yemen’s needs in (third phase).

A detailed presentation provided about the constant and comprehensive evaluation of the needs included objectives, professional methods and major outcomes of the assessment of the damages and needs of each city, sector and total costs.

According to the constant assessment of the needs in the third phase Yemen is in need of reconstruction and economic recovery campaign in 16 cities and 12 sectors with total cost estimated at approximately $23 billion for upcoming five years.

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation stated that the government has already started to make use of the assessment’s results in drawing the government’s plans and programs.
