Int. Federation of Journalist condemns Houthi militias’ use of 10 journalist as bargaining chips

In a letter to the Secretary General of the United Nations General Secretary, António Guterres, and the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, the International Federation of Journalists has condemned in the strongest terms the Houthi militia’s use of ten Yemeni journalists as hostages and bargaining chips.
The IFJ called also to “bring their full authority and the powerful array of legal tools at their disposal to demand the immediate release of them”.
The journalists being referred by Houthi rebels to the criminal court after three years of abduction are AbdullKhaliq Emran, Akram al-Walidi, al-Hareth Humaid, Tawfeeq al-Mansouri, Hisham Tarmoom, Hisham al-Yusfi, Haitham Raweh, Essam Bel-Ghaith, Hassan Annab, Salah al-Ka’edi.
