The Iran-backed Houthi militias are extorting money from local farmers in Al-Bayda province.

Media sources reported that the Houthi rebels have been imposing heavy royalties and illegal taxes on farmers and Qat sellers in Rada city, causing massive resentment among the people.

“The farmers refused to pay and considered the Houthi acts a theft and a looting of their won rights and personal possessions”, the sources added.

The militias are punishing the local residents after they refused to attend its ideological and sect courses in the province.
