Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Adel Al-Jubeir, stated that the kingdom’s position is clear in Yemen, that it stands by its legitimacy and condemns Al Houthi violations there.

In a press conference on Wednesday, Al-Jubeir said Saudi Arabia is fighting alongside Yemen’s internationally-backed government to restore its rule after a coup in 2014 by Iran-backed Al Houthi rebels unseated him.

“Millions of Yemenis are living in harsh conditions, under the poverty line and face a food scarcity problem due to the war”.

Al-Jubeir added that Saudi Arabia has continued to provide support for the Yemeni people to overcome their plight.
