Arab coalition to restore legitimacy in Yemen announced on Friday that the Saudi air defenses intercepted and destroyed a drone belongs to Iran-backed Houthi militias that was flying towards a residential area in the Saudi city of Abha.

Coalition spokesman Colonel Turki al-Maliki said that four civilians were wounded from fallen debris and a number of vehicles were damaged.

The defenses intercepted and downed the drone according to the relevant rules of engagement, he added.

After inspection, the coalition forces concluded that the drone was operated by the Houthis and manufactured by Iran.

The coalition condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist Houthis for targeting civilians, vowing that it will take the necessary deterrent measures to counter their violations.
