Anti-Human Trafficking reveals Houthi militia’s abuses against Yemeni women

Yemeni Organization for Combating Human Trafficking revealed that Houthi militia’s is holding some 162 abducted women in the  Criminal Investigation Department in the rebel-held Sana’a.

The rights group pointed out that the militia has referred 55 of those women to court for trial.

“We have previously revealed in a statement on 11 January ,2019, that Houthi militia has abducted about 120 women and forcibly disappeared them from 7 March 2018 until our statement on 11 January 2019, said Nabeel Fadhel, the head of the organization.

Fadhel added on his Facebook that in the past two months the Houthi militia abducted more than 42 women beside the former 120 women.

“All the abducted females are held in private villas in Sana’a, without any respect to social values, traditions and norms or to the Islamic laws,” Fadhel continued.
