World Poetry Day celebrated in besieged Taiz
Despite the four-year-long siege imposed by Houthi militia, large number of people in Taiz celebrated today the Word Poetry Day.
In the event “Taiz a love poem in the times of Houthi war and coup” a number of great stars and poets delivered many poems that advocate love and reject Houthi militia’s war and coup.
The function was organized by Office of Ministry of Culture and Yemeni Writers Union under the patronage of Taiz Governor Nabeel Shasan.
“Despite the war, siege and the suffering imposed on the city and its people by the coup militias, Taiz has always shared the world celebrations with its amazing cultural creativity that is existed in its civilization and humanity,” said Deputy Governor Dr. Abdulhakim Awn.
Director General Ministry of Culture Office of Abdulkhaliq Seif said that this event send a message of love and peace for the life-loving city of Taiz amid the militias’ war and siege.
